Houston authorities are currently conducting a thorough probe into a fatal incident that left one man dead following a shooting near 8203 Fondren Road this past Saturday afternoon. According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting took place around 2 p.m., and the victim has yet to be publicly identified, pending family notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, as reported by City of Houston News.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Lovelace and M. Hughey arrived on the scene after reports of a person down were made by witnesses. They discovered an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound lying in the parking lot; paramedics at the scene pronounced the individual deceased. Witnesses described an altercation that escalated, involving the victim and a suspect identified only as a Hispanic male. During the argument, the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and fatally shot the victim, fleeing on foot towards the south on Fondren, as stated in the initial police report.
