An investigation is underway following a fatal incident on the 10900 block of East Freeway in Houston. The Houston Police Department reported that a major crash occurred around 10:25 a.m. yesterday, resulting in the death of an unidentified male driver, according to official news from the City of Houston.
The City of Houston's release detailed that a white Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound when it failed to maintain a lane, subsequently making contact with the concrete retaining wall. The vehicle then lost control, veered across multiple lanes, descended an embankment, and rolled over after striking several small trees. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
No other vehicles or individuals were implicated in the crash, which limited the scope of impact to the solitary Expedition. The identity of the man who perished is being withheld pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division's Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Campbell are leading the investigation into the circumstances that led to this fatal crash. Although details remain limited, the investigation into the accident is ongoing, with authorities working to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
