Houston's own hip-hop legend Bun B is turning up the heat this summer with a block party at Trill Burgers, located in the bustling Montrose neighborhood. Fans of a good burger and vibrant community gatherings can mark their calendars for this weekend's event, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. in the Trill Burgers’ parking lot. The inaugural summer block party will double as a Juneteenth celebration and a nod to the restaurant’s second anniversary at the Shepherd location, as reported by Click2Houston.
Trill Burgers is no stranger to making waves in Houston's culinary and cultural scenes. In a move that solidified its growing presence, Trill Burgers earned itself a spot at this year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. With a new 9,000-square-foot standalone space at NRG Park, replete with a DJ booth, games, seating, and a bar, the restaurant has expanded its territory into what's fondly called Trill Town. According to CW39, Bun B expressed his excitement: "We’re excited to make this the trillest Rodeo ever."
The block party promises a family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, such as face painting, interactive games, and coloring books. Adults aren't left out of the fun either; live DJ sets will keep the party going until 6 p.m., and local artists including Zydeco Jam featuring Trilly Polk, Hershe Da Lyricist, and Kendra Jack will entertain the crowd with live performances until 9 p.m. Revelers can also anticipate giveaways and the chance to snag some exclusive Trill Burgers merchandise.
Bun B's commitment to bringing together food and music, a hallmark of Houston's rich cultural fabric, echoes through these events. The hip-hop icon and entrepreneur isn't just flipping burgers; he's creating space for community engagement and celebration. His return to the rotating star stage on Friday, March 7, for Black Heritage Day was another feather in his cap, underscoring his lasting influence in the city. As noted by CW39, Bun B's Birthday Bonanza featured a lineup of elite musical guests, affirming the crossover appeal of Trill Burgers, which also serviced hungry fans at NRG Stadium across multiple sections.
