An Iredell County officer sustained injuries during the arrest of two larceny suspects outside a Lowe's store in Troutman. The incident occurred around noon last Friday when officers responded to a call about a larceny at the home improvement retailer located on Charlotte Highway, as reported by WBTV.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found both suspects, identified as John Anderson, 46, of Gastonia, and Anna Jenkins, 35, of Huntersville, in the parking lot where the attempted arrest quickly escalated; Anderson fought the arresting officer, leading to a chase and another physical confrontation, during which both tumbled to the ground Anderson then dashed into the store, where he was eventually detained by other officers, while Jenkins was taken into custody without further incident, as detailed in an article from QC News.
Authorities have charged Anderson with felony conspiracy, felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, and resisting a public officer. His bond has been set at $5,000. Jenkins faces similar charges—felony conspiracy, felony larceny, and possession of stolen goods—and is additionally faced with outstanding warrants from Gaston County, with her bond amounting to $10,000, as recorded by WHKY.
Anderson's next court appearance is scheduled for July 7, while Jenkins is expected to appear sooner on July 1—both will face the consequences of their alleged actions in the district court amid a seemingly routine theft that rapidly devolved into a violent chase.
