As reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the move comes as part of the city's observance of this significant occasion in the nation's history.
The closures encompass a broad range of facilities throughout various districts including the District 1 Substation on Norwood Avenue, District 2 on Merrill Road, the Liberty Ridge-based District 3 Substation, and others, extending to the Police Memorial Building situated at 501 E. Bay Street, every corner nook and law enforcement nexus will fall quiet in solemn acknowledgment of the day, All other publicly accessible buildings will also be non-operational for the public during this time.
Community members requiring police services on Juneteenth have been advised that while walk-in access to stations will not be available, the operational heartbeat of the city's protectorate, the Patrol Division and the Communications Center, will continue to beat unfazed.
