An 18-year-old Middleburg man is behind bars in Clay County after detectives say he exposed himself and touched himself inappropriately in front of multiple young girls in the Oakleaf Plantation area, then followed at least one of them on a bicycle. Marckens Delmont is now facing three counts of lewd exhibition involving two minor victims, and investigators say they believe there could be more.
According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, detectives began investigating after receiving a report of lewd behavior in the Challenger and Oakleaf Plantation area in August. A young girl told her mother that Delmont had watched her walking by, then followed her on a bicycle before exposing himself and touching himself inappropriately in front of her. Booking records reviewed by Clay Today show Delmont, who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds, was booked into the Clay County Jail on August 18, 2026, and lists Middleburg — an unincorporated community south of Oakleaf Plantation — as his home address.
Detectives Uncover a Second Victim During Canvassing
As Clay County Sheriff's Office detectives canvassed the neighborhood following the initial report, they uncovered another young child victim, bringing the total charges against Delmont to three counts of lewd exhibition. Investigators say they believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward, per the sheriff's office. Delmont was arrested and taken into custody on several lewd-related charges stemming from the incidents.
Oakleaf Plantation is a fast-growing, family-dense suburban community in northern Clay County, with an estimated population of 33,142 in 2026 and children under 18 making up nearly 29% of residents, according to World Population Review. That demographic makeup helps explain why the case has drawn urgent attention from local investigators working to identify any additional victims among the community's many young families.
What Delmont Could Face Under Florida Law
Under Florida Statute § 800.04(7), lewd or lascivious exhibition committed by an adult in the presence of a child under 16 is classified as a second-degree felony, according to a legal explainer published by Hanlon Law. A conviction on that charge can carry up to 15 years in state prison, 15 years of probation, and a fine of up to $10,000 per count, along with mandatory sex offender registration — and with three separate counts filed against him, that potential exposure compounds if Delmont is convicted. Statewide, Florida Department of Corrections records show 49 new state prison commitments for lewd or lascivious offenses involving minors in fiscal year 2018–19, a figure that dropped to 31 commitments by fiscal year 2021–22, according to a Florida Senate report.

More than 50,000 Clay County residents were registered users of the platform as of June 2025, and SaferWatch partnered with the sheriff's office that same month to launch a $50,000 Crime Tip Rewards Program offering up to $5,000 per case for tips leading to arrests, according to SaferWatch. Callers can also reach First Coast Crime Stoppers, a regional anonymous tip system serving Northeast Florida through the **TIPS short code.
The case follows other recent lewd and sexual abuse investigations tied to Clay County.
