
A dirt bike accident in Allegan County this weekend resulted in a juvenile being hospitalized in critical condition and an adult with injuries, the Allegan County Sheriff's Office reported. The crash occurred on Saturday afternoon around 3:17 p.m. near the intersection of 146th Avenue and 17th Street in Dorr Township. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, witnesses observed one of the bikes being driven recklessly before the incident, as reported by MLive.
Both injured individuals were found by the responding deputies, the juvenile, whose age has not yet been disclosed was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition, while the adult was reported in stable condition. Several local departments including the Wayland Police Department, Dorr Fire Department, Wayland Ambulance, Michigan State Police, and Aero Med provided support following the collision. "One of the dirt bike operators had been driving recklessly before the crash," as witnesses told police, as stated in the Allegan County Sheriff's Office press release. Meanwhile, Sergeant Steven Damveld from the Allegan County Sheriff's Office acknowledged the quick response from Aero Med among other first responders without divulging further details about the victims or the circumstances leading up to the crash.
