A juvenile male died in a crash late Saturday night near the Las Vegas Speedway. The incident happened on Interstate 15 at mile marker 53 and involved a Ford F-250 traveling south in the northbound lanes. The truck collided head-on with a Chevy pickup, according to News3LV.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reported that a juvenile died at the scene of a crash that was first reported at 11:14 p.m. All northbound lanes of I-15 were temporarily closed, and traffic was diverted onto I-215. The eastbound ramp from I-215 to northbound I-15 and east Tropical Parkway to northbound I-15 were also shut down. Authorities closed the roads to clear the scene and begin the investigation.
The Nevada State Police reported that no other injuries occurred during the incident, as reported by 8 News Now. The lanes were closed for several hours, causing traffic delays while crews responded and investigators examined the scene. The Nevada Highway Patrol has not released additional details but said more information will be shared after the preliminary investigation.
