The Kannapolis Police Department has turned its focus to a community effort that involves stocking local students with essential school supplies. Considered a gesture of both goodwill and practical support, the department is calling upon residents to contribute items that will benefit students from kindergarten to the 12th grade in the Kannapolis City School system.
With an understanding that not every family can readily afford these necessary supplies, the list of requested items includes new and unused bookbags, notebook paper, binders, and a variety of writing instruments like pens and pencils. Other essentials such as pencil sharpeners, erasers, scissors, glue, pencil boxes, folders, and colored pencils/crayons are also welcomed. This tangible form of support will directly remove barriers to productive learning experiences, reinforcing the community's role in educational success.
To facilitate this donation drive, Kannapolis City Hall & Police Department at 401 Laureate Way has opened its doors for drop-offs. Eager to make a difference, the department is set on accepting these donations up through the end of July, specifically until the 31st. Potential donors have been granted a generous window to clear out unused supplies or to purchase new items that could make a world of difference in a child's educational journey.
