The City of Keller has slated three public hearings for Tuesday, June 24, to discuss varied planning and zoning proposals. The meetings will pertain to zoning changes, a specific use permit for an accessory structure, and another for an electric car charging station. These sessions are critical for stakeholders and residents to weigh in on the potential developments in their community.
First on the agenda is a request by Suma Monde Kapital Partners, represented by William Solomon, for a zoning change from SF-36 to PD-SF-30 for two tracts on Clara Lane and Indian Knoll Trail. This amendment would affect 7.2 acres and reduce the minimum lot size from 36,000 to 30,000 square feet, a reduction that has raised concern among locals wary of increased density, as reported by the City of Keller.
The second hearing will consider Jaron Dulaney's application for a specific use permit for a spacious 1,500 square-foot accessory structure on his .84 acre property on Summer Lane. This request has prompted discussions on the nature and use of accessory structures within the SF-36 zoned areas, which typically feature large lot sizes and low-density residential character.
Lastly, the Planning & Zoning Commission will review a request by Meghan Youngbar for a special use permit to establish an automobile electric charging station at the southeast corner of Keller Parkway and Rufe Snow Drive. This proposal aligns with the growing trend towards sustainable transportation; however, the comprehensiveness of the proposed station's integration into the existing Keller Town Center remains under review, according to the city's announcement.
