Get ready to mark your calendars, Knoxville! The city's largest Independence Day celebration, Festival on the 4th, is set to light up World's Fair Park on July 4th, 2025, from 5-10 p.m., happening rain or shine. As reported by the City of Knoxville's official website, attendees can look forward to a family-friendly evening packed with activities ranging from axe-throwing to mini-golf, paddle boats, and a variety of food vendors spread across the lawns.

Festival goers will be entertained on not one, but three stages, with Matt Stillwell set to grace the Festival Lawn stage from 5:45-7:45 p.m. Over at the Performance Lawn stage, 12Eleven Band is scheduled to perform from 6-7:45 p.m. And as the evening progresses, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will deliver the 41st Annual Free Lawson Family Foundation Independence Day Concert at 8 p.m. in the Tennessee Amphitheater. To cap off the night, fireworks are slated to launch from the Henley Bridge at approximately 9:45 p.m., with screens on-site to simultaneously broadcast the KSO's performance.

Organizers kindly ask that you leave alcohol, pets, and personal tents/canopies at home. However, you're encouraged to bring your water bottles, as the festival features a water station conveniently located next to the Performance Lawn entrance. Another one can be found at the Knoxville Utilities Board’s station on the Festival Lawn. Parking won't be a hassle either—the event offers free parking in nearby locations, including 11th Street garage, World's Fair Park, Blackstock parking lots, and all on-street metered areas alongside City-owned garages as outlined on the City of Knoxville's announcement.

Support for the celebration comes from a host of local entities, including Visit Knoxville and Home Federal Bank, among others. With music, games, and the promise of an explosive fireworks display, Knoxville aims to provide a truly patriotic experience. Keep in mind, road closures are to be expected, particularly around World's Fair Park Drive and Henley Street, and the Bridge. These are scheduled for 2:00-11:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-midnight respectively. The full list of closures can be found on the City’s website, offering ample time to plan your route to join in on the festivities.
