
Yesterday, Nassau County Police Department officers responding to a disturbance call around midday discovered the remains of a cat that had been subjected to severe cruelty inside a home on Park Avenue in Lakeview. According to PIX11, Azzm Khan, a 26-year-old man, was found in the residence in the company of the deceased feline.
Following the discovery, Khan was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital, according to authorities. The specific condition requiring medical attention was not immediately disclosed. He is facing charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and torturing animals/failure to provide sustenance. "Police said he was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and torturing animals/failure to provide sustenance," PIX11 reports.
Further details from Daily Voice reveal that the incident led to Khan's immediate arrest without incident by officers from the Fifth Squad. The charges have been filed, and Khan was subsequently released on an appearance ticket.
