A'ja Wilson recorded 26 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists, including the go-ahead basket with 22 seconds remaining. Rookie Aaliyah Nye scored a career-high 16 points, and Jewell Loyd made a key three-pointer in the final minutes. The game remained close, with no team leading by more than two points during the second quarter, according to Aces.
The Aces shot 43.3% from the field and had 36 rebounds, just ahead of the Mercury’s 35. Phoenix made 41.7% of its three-point attempts. The Aces committed 13 turnovers, which led to 18 points for the Mercury. In return, they scored 10 points off the Mercury’s 11 turnovers.
A'ja Wilson tied Lisa Leslie for the most 25-point, 15-rebound games in WNBA history with 13 during the Aces' win over the Mercury, as reported by AP News. Nye made five three-pointers as the Aces' bench outscored the Mercury's bench 28-24. The team played without Megan Gustafson and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus. The Aces will begin a series of road games in July, starting with a game against the Indiana Fever.
