In the pre-dawn silence of June 3, a pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run incident on East Flamingo Road. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported a red 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, driven by Isaac Velasco, 33, struck the unnamed 66-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene, leaving the injured woman on the cold asphalt.
Witness accounts and vehicle dash camera footage, obtained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, recount a narrative of events where the Alfa Romeo was traveling in the leftmost westbound lane before striking the pedestrian. Trying to flee westbound, the vehicle was located later at Velasco's residence. According to the official police news release, the driver claimed to have sustained no injuries and was arrested on allegations related to the hit-and-run.
The victim was promptly transported by medical personnel to Sunrise Hospital, where the severity of her injuries was deemed potentially fatal. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues its investigation and is actively seeking further information from anyone who can shed light on the tragic event that unfolded.
