A tragic turn of events unfolded in Leesburg when 18-year-old Kameryn Pickard was arrested following the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man after his father brought him to surrender to the Leesburg Police Department. As detailed by a ClickOrlando report, law enforcement responded to calls of a shooting around 7 p.m. on Friday in the 1000 block of Tuskegee Street, where the victim was discovered. It was later pronounced dead at UF Health Leesburg Hospital.
Pickard now faces serious charges, including premeditated murder and conspiracy-solicitation, with Leesburg Police and the State Attorney’s Office currently in discussions to finalize these charges, records from the arresting agency indicate. They are also urging witnesses, who may have seen something, to come forward, especially those with video surveillance or additional evidence that could shed light on the incident, a narrative echoed in a statement from WFTV.
