Last Saturday, the Lewisville Police Department was busy managing the chaos of a major accident that had completely shut down the 2400 block of S I-35E southbound. As vehicles came to a standstill and the night wore on, travelers felt the immediate impact of the collision's fallout, with tail lights stretching far into the darkness.
The Lewisville Police Department used their social media presence to inform the public, posting an alert on Facebook at 11:22 p.m. that read, "The Lewisville Police Department is on scene of a major accident in the 2400 block of S I 35E. (Southbound). All lanes are shut down. Expect major traffic delays. Please seek alternate routes."
According to a Facebook update from the Lewisville PD, the lanes were eventually reopened at 11:32 p.m. Lance swiftly returned to normalcy, as the department efficiently worked to clear the scene and reroute the congested traffic. Given the quick turnaround from closure to reopening, it appears that emergency response teams responded with commendable speed and efficiency.
