Lewisville is set to quickly heat up again with the return of Lover – The Unofficial Eras Tour at Wayne Ferguson Plaza. As Tuesday, June 17, approaches, locals are abuzz, expecting the iconic musical homage to one of pop's greatest phenoms, as heralded by last year's turnout. In a statement obtained by the city's event page, attendees are assured to experience the "glam, energy, and sound of the biggest tour of all time." Music enthusiasts, get your blankets and lawn chairs ready; you wouldn’t want to miss grabbing a spot, as per the City of Lewisville.
The indie-pop scene is also getting its fair share of the spotlight with singer/songwriter Alexandra slated to open for Lover. All performances, part of the "Sounds of Lewisville" series, will be staged at the same downtown plaza. According to the schedule, shows regularly commence at 7 p.m. every Tuesday throughout June with opening acts from 7-9:30 p.m. It’s recommended to arrive early, unless you don't mind standing for the entire showcase. And for those inclined to dine al fresco, food and beverages will be available for purchase.
This series isn't just about the music—it's part of supporting the "Old Town" Big Move initiative within the Lewisville 2025 vision plan. Wayne Ferguson Plaza itself is an award-winning 1.5-acre urban park, adorned with an interactive splash pad, a garden brimming with native flora, and an elevated stage ready for the next memorable performance. Fans and families can enjoy the versatility of space, something the city planners have keenly integrated into the evolving aesthetics of Lewisville.
It's not only Lover: An Eras Tour Experience drawing the crowds. The "Sounds of Lewisville" series boasts a lineup of returning acts and burgeoning talents. Imagine relaxing on a Tuesday night to Uptown Funk’s grooves (June 24), or winding down the season with The 8Tracks at Red White & Lewisville (July 1), which will conclude with a vibrant drone and fireworks display. While Lover might be the headliner that’s expected to quickly fill up the plaza, the series promises variety enough to cater to every musical palette.
