Residents of Valley Village are on edge after two disturbing break-ins in as many months, the latest involving a nude man who entered a home and engaged in a lewd act. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a woman reported a naked intruder in her house on the 11700 block of Otsego Street around 2 a.m. Thursday, according to KTLA.
The homeowner, identified only as "Amy" by NBC Los Angeles, described a harrowing encounter with the man, whom she found "undressed from the waist down, masturbating and staring at me." The intruder had gained access through an unlocked backdoor, moments that led Amy to scream, seize her dog and phone, and take refuge across the street while she contacted the authorities. Amy's neighbor, Bethany Sobesto, voiced the fears of the community, saying, "It's really scary because it could happen to any of us."
Footage from the scene depicted the suspect, a bearded man, being led out of the home in handcuffs, wearing only a dark poncho covering his top half. This visual, confirmed by FOX LA, added to the unsettled sentiments pervading the neighborhood as they grapple with this and a previous incident, where a 27-year-old man was arrested for the killing of Menashe Hidra after breaking into his apartment.
