The Los Angeles Rams and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority have decided to huddle up in a bid to boost tourism to the Aloha State, marking a strategic partnership that will include sporting events and community service activities. Clearly looking beyond just gridiron gains, the collaboration aims to tackle local issues and promote Hawai‘i’s culture. An integral highlight will be the Rams holding their Minicamp in Maui, a special event set to unfold from June 16 to June 19, in anticipation of their 2025 season, as reported by the Office of the Governor.
According to the Office of the Governor announcement made recently, the team will not only host football clinics on June 17 but also lend muscles and hearts to Habitat for Humanity, as they roll up sleeves to rebuild homes in Lahaina, giving a helping hand in a community that has recently been touched by wildfires. Running into the arms of community involvement, the Rams' efforts demonstrate a commitment to giving back to the islands that have hosted them.
The Rams' outreach will extend beyond the Minicamp, with War Memorial Stadium setting the stage for public on-field team activities on June 18. Open sessions will allow fans, especially Maui residents, the chance to get up-close with the team's training routines. The same day, the younger demographic will get their active 60 minutes during PLAY 60 Field Day. This initiative, aimed at children aged 5-12, will encourage physical activity and fun in conjunction with the County of Maui’s Play and Learn Sessions summer program, as per the Office of the Governor.
HTA is setting sights on wider horizons too. As part of the year-long partnership, HTA will become the presenter for a Los Angeles market activation, including sponsorship of a Rams' home game at SoFi Stadium. Snapping up marketing opportunities, HTa also plans to launch a campaign in Japan. "The partnership will bring the Rams to Maui and feature season-long activities that encourage the team’s dedicated fans to visit our islands," said HTA Board Chair Todd Apo in the partnership announcement, as stated by the Office of the Governor. This strategic play marks an extension of the Rams' Hawai‘i connection, dating back to an earlier preseason game at Aloha Stadium in 2019 and other community-centric initiatives.
