
During their mini-camp on Maui, the Los Angeles Rams supported the Lahaina community’s recovery from wildfires by donating upgraded locker rooms to Lahainaluna High School and assisting with home rebuilding. Super Bowl LVI champion Andrew Whitworth told KHON2, "When you get an opportunity to do stuff for people, it’s something bigger than yourself." Coach Dean Richard said the team’s presence has an impact on the community. Rams rookies also held football clinics for local youth as part of the ongoing recovery efforts.
About two dozen Rams rookies helped Habitat for Humanity rebuild homes on Komo Mai Street, as reported by Hawaii News Now. This work is part of a larger effort involving multiple cities affected by similar disasters. Erin Rank, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles, who is involved in the Lahaina rebuild, said they want to learn what rebuilding methods work best.
The Rams players participated in the community rebuilding efforts. Tight end Terrance Ferguson said he felt privileged to contribute. Linebacker Christopher "Pooh" Paul Jr. said, "First and foremost, I want people to know that I care." Habitat for Humanity Maui is constructing and dedicating new homes. Resident Ivory Gilmore said residents are beginning to see progress. Jamie Kuia, Family Services Director at Habitat for Humanity Maui, said, "I’m just happy that we’re getting it from the ground up again," as mentioned by Hawaii News Now.
