Jason Voskion led police across multiple jurisdictions in a high-stakes chase after attempting to strike a Medina Township officer with his car, according to local authorities. This incident, which spanned from an initial encounter with the Copley Police Department to Voskion's apprehension in Orrville by Wayne County Sheriff's deputies, began when Medina Township Police attempted a traffic stop on Voskion's beige Toyota Camry due to an outstanding felony warrant for assaulting an officer, as reported by Cleveland 19.
The pursuit escalated when officers from the Medina Township Police Department engaged Voskion after he fled on Granger Road, subsequently attempted to bypass a roadblock by driving off-road, where the officer fired his weapon at Voskion's vehicle, "according to a release", WKYC details on the event. Earlier in that day, Voskion was also involved in a short pursuit with the Copley Police after reports of a suspicious person and had fled the scene when asked to provide identification, which initiated the first pursuit, which was quickly terminated due to public safety concerns.
Following the initial failings to apprehend him, Voskion's flight from justice continued until his car became impaired and he attempted to escape on foot, at which point law enforcement was able to detain him, News 5 Cleveland reports from an account by Captain Eric Bors of the Medina Township Police Department. Despite the dangerous nature of the chase, no officers were reported injured throughout the ordeal.
After his capture, Voskion was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for self-inflicted injuries.
