
A man was taken into custody in Nevada County after allegedly trying to hit someone with his vehicle. The incident happened in a business parking lot on the 13000 block of Highway 174 in Grass Valley. The suspect, 35-year-old Shakti Gil Guillemet, fled the scene after the intended victim avoided the vehicle, as reported by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.
A verbal argument on Monday escalated into threats of violence and an attempted assault. A 911 call was made at around 2:37 p.m., and deputies responded to investigate, as stated by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, a "Be On the Look Out" alert was issued after Guillemet left the scene. About an hour later, a deputy saw the vehicle heading north on Highway 49. With help from other deputies and Nevada City Police, they made a traffic stop. Guillemet was arrested at 3:39 p.m. and taken to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. He is facing assault charges under CA Penal Code 245(a)(4). The investigation is ongoing.
