Yesterday afternoon, Paulding County was shattered by gunfire, leaving one man dead in its wake. According to local authorities, a heated exchange erupted into a deadly shooting around 2:25 p.m. near the junction of Ridge Road and Cohran Store Road, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

The encounter intensifed after an argument between the two men, one of whom was driving a black SUV. The victim managed to call 911 and transport himself to the Paulding County Fire Station 5, despite his injuries. Tragically, his wounds proved fatal at WellStar Paulding Hospital. While the assailant remains at large, the victim's identity is withheld, pending family notification.

Detailed reports of the incident seem almost to unfold in real time, with local attorney Monte Davis providing a firsthand account to 11Alive. Davis, found himself inadvertently embroiled in the conflagration as he transported items to his new home. "The white gentleman gets out and throws something in the face of the other guy in the car," Davis recalled, before bearing witness to the rapid escalation that led to the shooting.

As per Davis' account, a sequence of violent maneuvers ensued between the two involved parties. This, including dangerous car stunts and physical altercations. "He came flying by me and three other cars, passing double yellow in whatever that black car was, went through the traffic circle at the Shell and all of a sudden white dude brake checked him," Davis told 11Alive. The white gentleman in reference, would later be identified as the deceased victim, his last moments seen by bystanders as a high-speed chase that ended with his death.
