
A man has incurred an eye injury after being struck by a paintball during what authorities are describing as a drive-by paintball shooting on Chicago's Near North Side. The incident, which occurred late Sunday night, left the man in a state necessitating hospital treatment but is expected to recover fully. According to CBS Chicago, the episode unfolded around 11 p.m. on the 100 block of West Schiller Street, where the victim, a 38-year-old male, was reportedly ambushed by assailants from inside a red sedan.
Following the attack, the sedan was seen fleeing in an unknown direction, leaving the man with an injury to his eye. He was promptly taken to Northwestern Hospital and was listed in good condition. No arrests have been made in connection with the event, adding to a recent spate of unpunished paintball assaults in the city.
