A late-night disturbance in South Seattle escalated into violence when a 59-year-old man was injured by gunfire, according to the Seattle Police Department's blotter.. The incident, which unfolded near the intersection of South Hardy Street and Airport Way South, prompted police response at about 11:42 p.m. Monday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the man with injuries consistent with buckshot wounds. Seattle Fire Department personnel were already providing medical aid, and despite his wounds, the man remained alert and conscious, as detailed by the Seattle Police Department. He was quickly transported to Harborview Medical Center, thankfully with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
The shooter managed to quickly slip away, evidently using a vehicle to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived. Despite a sweep of the surrounding area, officers did not succeed in locating the suspect.
