Near Greenbelt Road on the inner loop of I-495, the incident involved a gray Tesla colliding with the rear of the trooper's marked patrol car, emergency lights fully activated, per FOX Baltimore.
Assigned to the College Park Barrack, the trooper was inside his vehicle, approximately at 2:44 a.m. yesterday, investigating when the collision occurred. Following the crash, the trooper, whose name has not been released, was rushed to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Fortunately, he was later released. According to WMAR-2 News, the driver of the Tesla, identified as 34-year-old Teo Kim of Hanover, Maryland, also received medical attention at a local hospital.
Authorities, scrutinizing the details surrounding the collision, are considering impairment as a possible contributing factor in the crash. Information on the incident remains sparse, but Maryland State Police from the College Park Barrack have reopened the active and ongoing investigation.
