A tragic incident unfolded at Ledge County Park this weekend, where a young Mayville man lost his life after an accidental fall. Last Saturday, June 14, Felix Mata Eusebio, 21, was enjoying the park's scenery with companions before tragedy struck. According to WISN, the group stopped for a photo atop a ledge when Eusebio slipped and plummeted about 40 feet.
Reports indicate that Eusebio was found unresponsive by first responders beside the ledge where he fell. Despite efforts from paramedics and the calling of a medical helicopter, Eusebio was pronounced dead at the scene – his injuries too severe to warrant a hospital transfer, CBS 58 reports. The Dodge County Sheriff's Office noted, that alcohol use was a factor in this fatal incident.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the 911 call at around 12:30 p.m. on that ill-fated Saturday afternoon. The Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office is now assisting with the ongoing investigation to understand the complete circumstances surrounding Eusebio's death.
As the community reels from the news, the Sheriff's Office has not released further details regarding Eusebio's companions or their state at the time of the accident. However, FOX 11 Online updated their coverage, confirming that the investigation, which has clearly indicated alcohol involvement, remains active as officials are piecing together this lamentable event.
