
On the afternoon of June 15, Memphis experienced yet another incident of auto theft. This time, the scene was set at Perkins on 5112 Park Avenue, where at approximately 2:09 p.m. According to the Memphis Police Department's report, the victim had left their keys on a storage shelf within the business, which the suspect subsequently snatched up to make off with the victim's 2015 Kia Sorrento.
In the middle of the day, the suspect—described by Memphis Police as a Black male wearing a white hat and a blue shirt—was seen. While the exact motivations remain unclear, the vehicle's last known sighting was reported on June 16 around 8:15 a.m., near the intersection of Summer Avenue and National Street. The search for both the suspect and the stolen vehicle is ongoing.
The Memphis Police are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to step forward. They are asking witnesses or anyone with potentially useful information to contact Crime Stoppers through their hotline at 528-CASH.
