Memphis Police Department is actively seeking suspects in connection with a fatal shooting that unfolded in Orange Mound on June 2, just before 11 p.m. According to Action News 5, officers who responded to the scene found a male victim outside 1461 Pendleton Street, now identified in a video showing a verbal exchange prior to the shooting.
The argument, captured near Save-A-Stop 1 convenience store, preceded the victim being shot and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators released new information pointing to a man known as "Ray Ray" as the person of interest. As reported by FOX13 Memphis, after the incident, this individual allegedly entered a white Chrysler 300 with a distinctive black hood and fled towards Deadrick Avenue.
Adding to the witness reports, a woman seen with the victim moments before the deadly confrontation is now sought after by authorities for further questioning. "Ray Ray" and the unidentified woman were last spotted going around the corner of the store where the camera's gaze couldn't follow, as noted in a statement obtained by WREG News Channel 3.
While no arrests have been made to date, the effort to locate both "Ray Ray" and the woman seen in green shirt and black pants, leaves the Memphis Police Department urging anyone with information to come forward. They can do so by calling Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH, ensuring that the unidentified woman running away from the scene northbound on Pendleton Street can provide her account of events.
