
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the community to identify a suspect and two persons of interest connected to a recent shooting in Southwest. The incident, which left an 18-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, occurred on the 400 block of M Street, Southwest.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting took place on Thursday, May 30, 2025, around 3:53 p.m. Arriving at the scene, First District officers found the victim conscious and breathing. Suffering from life-threatening injuries, he was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital.
Investigators have obtained surveillance footage that shows the suspect, who was on a scooter at the time of the shooting, as well as two other individuals deemed people of interest in the case. The updated photos released by the department provide a clearer look at those believed to be associated with the crime.
The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone who can identify the suspect or the people of interest, captured by nearby cameras, should contact the police. With the assurance of anonymity, those who have knowledge of the incident are encouraged to call at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip through the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. As part of their protocol, to encourage public cooperation, the department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for this violent act in the capital's district.
