The virtual poker tables are getting more crowded and the stakes are indeed becoming more interesting. As of June 10, thanks to a recent nod from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), Rush Street Interactive is now in the multi-state internet poker game. This approval means that Michigan poker buffs can now try their hands against counterparts in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia. A collaboration that's definitely giving players more opportunities to up their game and their winnings.
Rush Street Interactive's inclusion under the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) came to fruition after their application on March 31 was put through the wringer and got a thumbs up from the MGCB. In a statement released by the Michigan Government website, Executive Director Henry Williams expressed, “Multi-state internet poker offers players a larger pool of participants and more opportunities for competitive play.” He also ensured that the addition is geared towards keeping gaming safe, fair, and above board for all involved players.
Michigan players won't be dealing a lack of options when it comes to their online poker venues. Rush Street Interactive joins other heavy hitters such as MGM Grand Detroit with BetMGM, the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians with World Series of Poker, and The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians with PokerStars – all of which are already dealing cards in the multi-state poker network. Michigan's seat at the MSIGA table has been in place since 2022, which previously lifted players from only being able to play against others within state borders.
With the addition of Rush Street Interactive, Michigan reaffirms its commitment to expanding its portfolio of legal, regulated gaming offerings. As the industry expands, interested users can find more information, including the Multistate Poker Submission Form, on the Michigan Government website.
