Mid-Missouri drivers, get ready for some delays. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be doing highway maintenance and roadwork across several counties from Monday through June 15. Make sure to plan.

According to MoDOT is pulling the night shift with striping on Interstates 70 and 44, scheduled throughout June, and is giving motorists the heads up on possible delays due to lane closures. But that's not all that's on the docket. Expect to dodge potholes and navigate your way around the maintenance crews, as they patch up the roads, mow down those roadside distractions, and get that pavement back in tip-top shape. However, don't forget, all work is weather permitting, and MoDOT's plans could change faster than a Missouri summer storm.

For Boone County, MoDOT's agenda includes roadside work on Missouri Route 740, where you can anticipate this mini obstacle course from Monday to Friday. They’ll be resurfacing action on Routes V and U, and guardrail work on Route E, with lane closures eased by piloted cars so you won't have to play the guessing game. And for those who frequent U.S. Route 63, brace yourselves for narrowed lanes and restricted widths as interchange improvements kick into high gear through November 2026.

Over in Callaway County and beyond, your commutes might stretch longer with single-lane closures on U.S. Route 54 and the temporary shut-off of South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) until February 2026 as they replace a culvert over Sallees Creek. Not to be left out, Camden, Cole, and Cooper counties also share titbits of traffic-tweaking news. Route B in Cole County will get a pavement facelift from Tuesday to Thursday, while Cooper County's I-70 Lamine River Bridge will shut down its eastbound and westbound driving lanes from Monday to Thursday.

Last but not least, Osage, Phelps, and Pulaski are in line for their share of slowdowns and go-arounds, with U.S. Route 50 seeing a facelift from west of Linn to east of Rosebud — a project with a distant end date in May 2026. And while all these roadworks seem set to test the realms of mid-Missourian patience, MoDOT implores the community for cooperation. "MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones," MoDOT appeals in their announcement.
