Milwaukee County Supervisor Patti Logsdon recently declared an advance in reviving the local treasure, Hales Corners Pool, which saw its gates close back in 2019. A recently passed resolution, which Logsdon co-authored, has laid the groundwork for an assessment geared toward the potential reopening of the facility. Having received the Parks and Culture Committee's green light, the next step is an evaluative test of the pool's systems during this summer season, as reported by Milwaukee County.

"This is a significant and encouraging step forward in our efforts to bring the Hales Corners Pool back to life," Supervisor Logsdon told Milwaukee County. Intent on bringing splashes of joy back to the neighborhood, the resolution has sparked optimism for Hales Corners, where the residents have eagerly awaited the return of their storied aquatic retreat.

Supervisor Logsdon took the opportunity to express gratitude to those who contributed to reaching this milestone. Special thanks were directed to individuals such as Hales Corners Village President Dan Besson, Lions Club President Don Drew, Parks executives, and fellow Supervisors. Logsdon emphasized that these key players were "invaluable in getting us to this point," according to Milwaukee County.

Public swimming pools, fountains of community and recreation, are more than just a means to cool off during Milwaukee's hotter times. And the Hales Corners Pool stands as a testament to that, its deep-water allure lying dormant, waiting for the laughter of swimmers that once pervaded its ambience. A thorough testing of the pool's fill and filtration systems, as instructed by the resolution, is the necessary preliminary, with a detailed report to follow that will lay out repair scope and cost. The resolution eagerly awaits the final nod from the full County Board on June 26, Milwaukee County reports.
