Mt. Juliet Police Utilize Technology to Arrest Three, Including Nashville Suspects, in Theft and Drug Case

In Mt. Juliet, law enforcement's swift use of technology led to the arrest of three individuals involved in a string of crimes, beginning with the theft of a woman's purse at a Planet Fitness location. According to a social media post by Mt. Juliet Police, the incident unfolded on Wednesday when officers were alerted to the theft, which resulted in the recovery of the purse minus several important items. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage entering the facility through an unsecured emergency exit and then departing in an SUV.

Utilizing the #MJGuardianShield license plate readers, authorities were able to pinpoint the female suspect's vehicle, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants. "Today, Guardian Shield alerted officers when the SUV returned to Mt. Juliet," the police department shared. The suspect, a 27-year-old woman from Nashville with an existing criminal history, was apprehended after these system alerts. She was not only implicated in the current theft but was also wanted in South Carolina for similar offenses involving theft and stealing vehicles.

During the arrest, law enforcement uncovered meth and fentanyl in the woman's possession. The police's investigation didn't end there, as the driver of the SUV, a 44-year-old Nashville man, was also found with the same illicit substances. Lakeview Dr. This person, tangled in an array of felony probation violation warrants from Nashville, was involved in drug sales, illegal firearm possession, and vehicle theft.
