
Chaos ensued on the streets of Milwaukee last night as a string of police pursuits led to numerous arrests and caused a substantial multi-vehicle crash. WISN reports that a chase initiated by Milwaukee Police ended violently near Tiefenthaler Park, where a fleeing suspect vehicle collided with another car causing both to roll over. The incident sent three individuals to the hospital, including a 17-year-old driver who was taken into custody.
In another encounter, officers engaged in a pursuit around 5:30 p.m. with a vehicle suspected of reckless driving near 18th and National. FOX 6 Now details how the chase concluded with the fleeing vehicle crashing into an oncoming police squad car at 6th and Clybourn. The two 28-year-old men from the suspect vehicle attempted a futile escape on foot before being arrested—with no injuries reported from the crash.
The nighttime chase reported by WISN began just before 10 p.m. and was a result of a registration violation near S. 5th Street and W. Becher Street. Police were able to recover a gun, drugs, and confirm that the vehicle was stolen. The young driver faces charges that will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
Adding to the hectic trail of incidents, CBS 58 reported that the crash near 27th and Galena was the result of a police pursuit that also began as an attempt to stop a vehicle over registration discrepancies. After the crash, police apprehended the 17-year-old driver and discovered illegal narcotics alongside a firearm at the scene. The passenger of the suspect vehicle, a 20-year-old, was seriously injured, while the 22-year-old driver of the other car suffered non-fatal injuries.
