During a routine traffic stop last Sunday, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies arrested 37-year-old Joseph Burhop of Needles, California. The incident occurred at the intersection of D Street and W Broadway Street. Deputies discovered that Burhop was unlawfully in possession of a firearm and ammunition due to his prior felony status.
The stop quickly escalated into more serious charges when deputies found evidence leading to the search of Burhop's residence the following day. There, they uncovered additional firearms, ammunition, and narcotics. As reported by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the suspect was booked into the High Desert Detention Center with bail set at $30,000 and presently remains in custody awaiting his court hearing.
