A bear entered a home in Nevada City early last Friday. The homeowner called authorities at 4:39 a.m. The Nevada County Sheriff's Office and firefighters arrived and took part in safely removing the bear.

Personnel from the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District and the Nevada County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found the homeowner waiting outside. Deputy Lewis and Captain Menet located the bear in a stairwell. They opened doors and windows to give the bear a way out. The bear eventually left through a window without incident.

According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, a bear entered a home but no one was hurt, including the bear. The post included a video of the incident and a link to a bear-proofing guide from the BEAR League. It also stated, “While some mornings start off un-“bear”-able, this one wasn’t too bad for the books.”
