Heads up, drivers: major works on I-215 are slated to start this Sunday, June 8, as the Nevada Department of Transportation kicks off a preservation project set to enhance a swath of eastbound lanes. Stretching from the I-15 interchange to Windmill Lane, nearly four miles of road are in for a serious makeover, with construction anticipated to run through to winter 2025, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
Heads up, night drivers: roadwork will take place mostly overnight, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., so the evening commute shouldn’t be too affected. From June 8 to June 13, expect lane reductions to two lanes between I-15 and Windmill Rd, and down to just one lane near Las Vegas Blvd from midnight to 4:00 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to be cautious in these areas or take a different route if possible. The work includes milling, paving, and upgrades like ADA improvements, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
