New Braunfels is preparing to recognize National Park and Recreation Month this July with a range of events organized by the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department. The schedule includes activities such as family storytime and food truck gatherings, designed to offer something for all age groups and interests. Residents are encouraged to take part in the planned community events throughout the month.
According to the city's announcement, families are invited to visit local parks every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. for Family Storytime or Art in the Park, offering opportunities to engage in reading and creative activities in an outdoor setting. On July 4, a live concert will be held at the Landa Park Dance Slab, followed by a fireworks display sponsored by HEB. For those seeking a way to cool off during the Texas summer, the Snow Cone Party at Landa Park Aquatic Complex is scheduled for July 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Art enthusiasts interested in local culture may consider joining the Downtown Mural Tour, guided by Jan Kingsbury on July 12. Registration is required for participation. For those focused on fitness, the New Braunfels Fire Department will host a workout session on July 26 at 9 a.m. at the Landa Park Playground, where firefighters will lead a group exercise class.
Chad Donegan, Parks and Recreation Director, told the City of New Braunfels, "The NRPA Gold Medal Award-winning New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled some amazing family-fun activities throughout the month at various parks throughout the City."
