Drivers in New Braunfels should prepare for some overnight inconveniences as Walnut Avenue undergoes major repaving from County Line Road to Klein Road. This effort, part of a $1.2 million investment from the city's dedicated street maintenance fund, is set to kick off on June 22 and aims to smooth over daily commutes, according to the City of New Braunfels.
To reduce daytime traffic disruptions, Lone Star Paving crews will work overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Expect some lane closures during this time as they repave roads. In the weeks leading up to the project, drivers will see utility work and new road stripes during the day, with little impact on traffic, as reported by the City of New Braunfels.
As detailed on the City of New Braunfels official website, if all goes according to plan, without the whims of weather or unforeseeable delays tossing a wrench into the gears, the project's expected completion date hovers around July 30th. Residents can continuously monitor updates on other road projects, lane closures, and potential traffic delays through the same platform.
