The City of New Braunfels has once again proven its prowess in the realm of communication and marketing, clinching four prestigious awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO). The accolades were distributed during the annual TAMIO conference which sees municipalities across Texas contend in various categories, showcasing strategies and effectiveness in engaging their communities. According to the City of New Braunfels official announcement, the conference, which took place in Fort Worth in early June, had a competitive pool of over 659 entries.

New Braunfels, with a population bridging the gap between 50,000 and 150,000, secured first-place TAMI Awards for their social media and marketing campaigns. Their projects included the humor-laced "No Sharks in the Guadalupe" social media post and the Disposable Container Reeducation Campaign, both designed to quickly grab attention, as mentioned on the City of New Braunfels website. The city also took home the top prize for the Resident River Parking Pass Campaign, asserting its capability to effectively communicate and collaborate with its residents. Adding to their tally, an Award of Honor for the NBPD SRO Welcome Video recognized their efforts to strategically educate the public.

This series of achievements marks the fifth consecutive year that New Braunfels has been recognized at the TAMIO conference, as per the city’s statement. Their consistency in excellence is evident in the history of awards received, with previous honors including an Award of Excellence for External Communications during COVID in 2021, a recognition for the Perk Your Park Marketing Plan/Campaign in 2022, and an award for their city website redesign in 2023. In 2024, the city also nabbed the top accolade for the Wein & Saengerfest event and the second-place Award of Excellence for their Bond marketing campaign.
