The Dallas City Council welcomed new faces and celebrated the contributions of former members during its 2025 Council Inauguration Ceremony yesterday. The event was held at Meyerson Symphony Center and commenced at 10 a.m., followed by a reception open to the attendees, as per the City of Dallas.
In his remarks, Mayor Eric L. Johnson addressed both outgoing and incoming Council Members, marking the transition and the continuity of leadership. The mayor's words were not just ceremonial, but also an acknowledgment of the city's ongoing projects and the roadmap ahead. The event, which was free and open to the public, required registration and offered limited parking, including first-come, first-served spaces at the Cathedral Parking Garage. Additional parking could be found at Hall Arts Garage and at street parking nearby.
New Council Members took their oath of office during the ceremony, which was a significant occasion as it symbolizes the democratic process and commitment to serving the Dallas community. The ceremony was live-streamed, with a link available to those who wished to watch remotely. Members of the media were asked to RSVP to [email protected] and were provided with access during the reception in the East Lobby of the Meyerson for any potential commentary and interviews.
