A suspect has been apprehended following an armed robbery incident that involved a confrontation after a car collision in Northwest D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that 24-year-old Diego Hernandez of Northwest, D.C., faces charges stemming from the May event.
Details indicate that on May 30, around 4:50 p.m., the victim and suspect were both parties in a two-vehicle crash near the 600 block of 12th Street, Northwest. In the aftermath of the crash, a heated exchange between the two escalated when the suspect drew a handgun and robbed the victim of their phone before fleeing, the Metropolitan Police Department reports.
The break in the case came when a DC Superior Court arrest warrant led to Hernandez's arrest on Wednesday. Hernandez is now being processed on charges of Armed Robbery (Gun).
