The weather across New York City's boroughs seems to be taking a slight turn towards uncertainty, with forecasts including chances of showers and thunderstorms scattered through the week. According to the National Weather Service forecasts for Manhattan, there's a 20 percent chance of showers with a steady temperature around 81 degrees today. The rest of the week for Manhattan doesn't look too clear either, with "a chance of showers and thunderstorms," mostly cloudy skies and all temperatures peaking comfortably in the low to high 80s.

Similarly, Brooklyn is set to experience similar weather, with a 20 percent chance of showers  and conditions expected to become mostly cloudy in the evening with a low of about 66 degrees. Looking ahead to the weekend, Brooklyn residents can broadly expect to see "a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm," with the possibility of precipitation rising up to 50 percent on Saturday.

Over in Queens, the forecast echoes a similar sentiment with today bringing "a 20 percent chance of showers," and temperatures hovering around 76 degrees, as well as an eastern wind traveling 11 to 14 mph. The borough is to consistently brace for chances of rain right through to the upcoming Monday. Friday night offers a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for those in Queens.

The Bronx's weather indicating a slightly 20 percent chance of showers today though it is partly sunny with a steady temperature around 75 degrees. During the weekend, there is a forecast of "a slight chance of showers" transitioning to "a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm" on Saturday. The upcoming Tuesday in the Bronx might become quite unsettled with "showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm."

Staten Island is facing a 20 percent chance of showers today, notably a touch lower than its neighboring boroughs. The trend of cloudy skies and the possibility of showers and thunderstorms persist through the week. Staten Islanders might expect an escalation of weather events going into Tuesday, with a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Wednesday, however, promises "mostly sunny" skies with highs nearing 88 degrees, presenting a break in the pattern.

Despite these variations in the day-to-day weather, the National Weather Service has not predicted any events that meet warning criteria for hazardous weather for the New York City area within the next week.
