Yesterday, Oakland's bravest were swift to address a 2-alarm fire that besieged a home on Skyline Blvd. The blaze, which was first reported around 4 PM, was confronted by the Oakland Fire Department crews as it engulfed an exterior garage and threatened to spread to the attached residence and surrounding greenery. Due to their rapid response, the situation was reined in, as shared in a social media post from the Oakland Fire Department.
The incident unfolded at a single-story residential property in the 13000 block of Skyline Blvd. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke and flames bellowing from the garage; Action was quickly taken to prevent the fire from reaching neighboring properties. According to the same social media post, no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. Furthermore, the fire crews' timely efforts ensured no need for evacuations.
Moreover, amidst the ash and glare of the fire, two small dogs were rescued from the brink. Battalion Chief Anthony Sanders offered insight into the situation, saying, as per the Oakland Fire Department, "crews were also able to locate two small dogs and revive them before they could be transported to a veterinary hospital for more care." This remark was noted in a video and images documenting the incident.
