
The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several Oklahoma counties, including Oklahoma City and Norman, until 9 AM CDT today. Heavy rain and storms could lead to flooding. A flash flood warning is also in effect for parts of Cleveland and Oklahoma counties until 7:52 AM CDT, as flooding has already started in some areas and could get worse, according to the NWS Norman.
Residents in Oklahoma City, Norman, and nearby areas should expect more showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 AM. Skies will gradually clear, leading to a warm high near 85°F. Winds will stay light, around 6 mph from the southeast. Tonight will be mostly clear with a mild low around 66°F.
For those looking ahead, the NWS Norman forecasts a mix of sun and storms throughout the week. High near 72°F by Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected from late Wednesday into the weekend.
Despite some storms, residents can expect mostly sunny weather by Friday. However, there's still a 40% chance of thunderstorms by Friday night. Winds could also pick up, with gusts reaching up to 26 mph by Tuesday.
