
Calling all Oklahoma City residents: your voice matters in the development of the city’s first MAPS 4 Youth Center. A community listening session scheduled for next week Tuesday will give locals the chance to pitch their ideas and lay some groundwork for the programming at the upcoming facility in Woodson Park.
The gathering, open to residents of all ages, will be hosted by MAPS 4 and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. It is set from 6-7 p.m. at the current Woodson Park Boys & Girls Club location. There, you can hear from the project’s operator and design team on how they’re planning to reflect community needs. In a statement released by the Oklahoma City the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County, President and CEO, Teena Belcik, mentioned, “we look forward to hearing directly from community members as we begin the design process for the first MAPS 4 Youth Center, Together, we are building a stronger future for youth across OKC—one rooted in opportunity, equity and support"
The MAPS 4 initiative has earmarked an impressive $118 million to establish four cutting-edge centers aimed at enriching the lives of young people throughout Oklahoma City.
