According to the QC News, the incident took place around 12:45 a.m. at a residence on Walnut Acres Drive in the Mountain View community. As of now, the Catawba County Sheriff's Office has yet to announce any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing with a collaborative effort from local and state authorities.
Authorities were called to the home after reports of multiple shooting victims. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, one remains in critical condition, and several are still hospitalized, reported WCNC Charlotte. The Catawba County Sheriff's Office has not disclosed the identities nor the ages of the victims. A party at the residence is believed to have been taking a place when the shootings occurred.

A resident of Walnut Acres Drive, where the shootings unfolded, told WBTV that the incident seemed to have occurred mostly outside and appeared to be random.
