A fatal collision on Albemarle Road in east Charlotte has claimed one life and left another injured on yesterday. According to QC News, the area near the 8800 block, in the vicinity of a Lowe's store, has been closed for investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. The disruption has prompted officials to advise drivers to find alternate routes.
The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed, as of yet. In addition to the fatality, Medic confirmed another individual was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, WCNC reports. The particulars of what precipitated the crash remain unclear.
Adding to the reports, WBTV mentions that the collision took place near Hollirose Drive, on the same East Charlotte roadway, prompting the authorities to shut down a segment of the road as the police conducted their inquiries into the cause of the incident.
