The vehicle ended up in the path of the westbound Jeep, causing a head-on collision. According to WESH, the Jeep, which was also traveling towards Hammock Lane, was engulfed in flames upon impact.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by troopers. Meanwhile, the driver of the Jeep, removed by troopers before the vehicle was consumed by fire, was transported with serious injuries to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital. As the investigation persists, the identities of those involved have not been released to the public.
