Early this morning, a fatal collision occurred on State Road 434 in Oviedo, resulting in the death of one driver and serious injuries to another. According to ClickOrlando, the crash happened around 5:05 a.m., involving a 2022 Nissan Altima and a 2018 Jeep Compass. The unfortunate incident led to all lanes of S.R. 434 near Hammock Lane being blocked.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated that the Nissan Altima was heading east, approaching Hammock Lane, when the driver, failing to manage a curve to the right, veered into the oncoming traffic lane. The vehicle ended up in the path of the westbound Jeep, causing a head-on collision. According to WESH, the Jeep, which was also traveling towards Hammock Lane, was engulfed in flames upon impact.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by troopers. Meanwhile, the driver of the Jeep, removed by troopers before the vehicle was consumed by fire, was transported with serious injuries to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital. As the investigation persists, the identities of those involved have not been released to the public.
